Josipa Casey is an International Baccalaureate Teacher at Glen A. Wilson High School (a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School) in Hacienda Heights, California, where she serves in multiple leadership roles including Collegial Lesson Facilitator, Site Governance Facilitator, WASC Coordinator, Academic Senate Member, and National Honor Society Advisor.

Wilson's 2023 Teacher of the Year, Josipa brings nearly 20 years of educational experience and strives to empower each of her students’ personal academic journeys by building upon their self-determination, engagement towards and capacity for success. Drawing from her Croatian heritage and immigrant experience, Josipa authentically connects with diverse student populations and incorporates unique global perspectives into her IB Literature, Philosophy, and Theory of Knowledge courses, fostering students' critical thinking and analytical skills. Josipa is eager to participate in the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms program to deepen her understanding of international educational approaches and return with innovative strategies to further develop her students' global competencies and cross-cultural communication skills. Josipa holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a Master's degree in Education from the University of La Verne.
